Tara Ciabattoni was born and raised in New York. It was here that Tara’s mother, a big fan of the dramatic arts, often took her to see Broadway plays and musicals. Tara was hooked. She pursued theatre and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre from the University of Miami. Upon graduation, Tara moved back to NY to study Method acting, while she performed in such plays as; “You Can’t Trust the Male”, “The Owl and the Pussycat”, “The Edgar Allen Show”,” Lovers and Other Strangers”, and “Dates and Nuts”. Soon after, Tara decided to move to Los Angeles to see what the town had to offer. That is where she met Edie Magoun, and joined her all female sketch group, “Tomboys in Fishnets”. Tara goes way back with the group and was one of the first members of TIF. Since then, she has performed in over 50 live sketchcomedy shows with the group, and has participated in many videos thatcan be seen online. Tara currently lives in Venice Beach, and is pursuing acting, and a Masters degree in psychology. Performing with the Tomboys has been the one the most cherished times in her life.

Edie on Tara: Tara has performed in all 5 staged productions that Tomboys have produced. Usually as our resident understudy. In one show Tara understudied 3 different actors over the course of the run. Often with very little rehearsal. Once Tara performed 12 different characters having no rehearsal (other than running lines backstage.) To give you an idea what this means… each Tomboys’ show is under and hour. Each actor plays between 10-12 different characters. There is rarely more than 20 seconds to change wardrobe between each sketch and very few sketches are over 3 minutes long. Tara is a a sketch comedy boot-camp champ.

Laura Hermanstorfer (Myers)

Laura started her professional acting career in Tulsa, OK playing Mary in the melodrama “The Drunkard”. Becoming addicted to the sound of laughter aimed at her, she continued acting in San Francisco in varied improv and theatrical productions as well as music projects singing both leads and back-up for local artists. She then took her chops to Los Angeles where she joined Tomboys in Fishnets and sketch comedy became her life. You may have heard her voice hawking products in television and radio commercials and in the film Judge Dredd. Laura continues to do projects where she finds a happy marriage between her two loves, singing and comedy. When she is not on stage, she is a professional vocal coach in Portland, OR.

Edie on Laura: Laura is one of the most important people involved in the growth of Tomboys. An amazing performer Laura also carried the role of assistant director for “Hollywood” and “Voyage d’Amour.” As a writer she participated in the development of multiple sketches and characters that remain in Tomboys Arsenal. She was invaluable to the troupe and we love and miss her.
She’s also the second singing voice on “I Like My Boobies”
